Habitat Saskatoon Summer Build
- Habitat For Humanity builds Monday through Saturday during the summer and early fall and Tuesday through Saturday in the winter months.
- Please remember we now build year round
About School Partnerships
ED Feehan School Build
- The E.D. Feehan Career Academy exsits to provide students with pathways to academic, occupational and life success through buisness and professional partnerships with Catholic education.
- Students earn high school credits towards their grade 12 diploma.
- Apprenticeship training hours that will count towards SIAST journeyperson certification.
- Valuable "real world" job experience.
- Opportunities in trade interships offered in the summer though Saskatoon and Region Home Builders Association.
HCAP House Build
- The High School Carpentry Apprenticeship Program gives students the opportunity to bank hours towards a Journeyperson's status in the carpentry trade.
- High School Carpentry Apprenticeship Program offered in partnership with the Saskatoon Public School Division
- Program currently running out of Mount Royal Collegiate.
- Students earn 5 credits toward their high school diploma.

Home Dedication Ceremony
- Habitat Saskatoon held a Home Dedication Ceremony on June 13th, 2009. Charlene Lafontaine and her family were presented with the keys to their home as Habitat celebrated with them.
- The next Home Dedication Ceremony will take place this fall. Two families will receive the keys to their home on Avenue V South.
Construction Site Reminders
Tailgate Meetings
- 8:00 am each day volunteers meet at the construction site- the first thing is a safety briefing. You will be briefed on day's safety issues and projects, and sign Tailgate Sheet and Waiver Form.
Protective Wear
- Dress prepared to work on a construction site. Long pants preferred to avoid leg injuries, use discretion.
- Please provide your own sunscreen and insect spray there is a concern over allergies with different products
- SANDALS or CLOGS will NOT be allowed on the site. Please wear safety boots if you own them or sturdy close-toed shoes or boots.
- Hard hats, safety glasses, will be loaned to volunteers by Habitat and must be worn at all times on construction site. Glove that are one size fits all are avalible but you may want to bring your own. Please ensure any borrowed items are returned at the end of your shift.
Tools
- Pay extra attention to instructions given by Crew Leaders on safety and use of tools you will be using.
- All tools needed will be loaned by Habitat. please be sure to clean and return them to the appropriate location at the end of your shift.
- If you bring your own tools, be sure they are clearly marked. Habitat will not be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Refreshments
- Volunteers are asked to bring their own lunch and snacks. On some occasions there may be a lunch sponsor. The volunteer coordinator will notify you in advance if you do NOT need to bring a lunch.
- Coffee and water available for breaks.
- Water will be brought to volunteers regularly during the day. BE SURE to keep hydrated.
